Girl I went to med school with went into neurosurgery.
College plus med school plus residency plus fellowship 15 years.
She practiced for 1 year and quit to be a stay at home mom.
Being a stay at home mom is wonderful but if thats what you want why do you do the rest? Not to mention taking a spot from somebody who would practice and care for patients for 30 years.

Because she can go earn money is she ever needs to.
Because she can.
Because she earned it.

She’ll stay home for six years and pop out three kids. Once the youngest starts preschool, she’ll go back to work and hire a nanny. She’ll bring in $200k+/year and laugh at proles like you.

Because this desire women have when they’re young to be independent and accomplish things outside of being a mom is all brainwashing pumped into their brains when they’re young. The biological clock hits every single one of them. It’s called science.

Probably saw a meme on how much stay at home moms "actually" make.

Well sure. But could easily have full time nannies or go part time or something

I was about to ask how long can you stay out of that specialty before you are no longer considered competent in your field.

There's a pretty high % of female MD holders who leave the field after a few years. I'm guessing that's probably true of other professional fields, too. We spend a lot of money (and deny a spot to others) just for them to up and quit.

Or she could do what she's doing because that what she wants to do. What are your credentials for determining which one is best?
