You can't put a horse on the road that far out without giving a couple days to acclimate. I've raced better than him and had my arse handed to me because of the surrounding.

It was the cold weather and the walk alone 20 minutes to the ring that did him in. Gave him plenty to wind himself up about
He's AWFUL when the weather first drops every year. I cringed when I saw the forecast. Every afternoon when it warned up he was fine but our classes were all first thing in the morning.
I used to have him on a 10% but they stopped making it.
If we go back next year I'll have vacation days I can take so we'll have more time. He surprisingly rode on the trailer better than he ever has before.
He's still my #1 in my life <3
