where is everybody? bars not shut down yet? Jackson restaurants shut down so early it seems. but that's ok bc I need to wash all my purple outfits just in case the guys on SEC tickets board sells me his LSU/MSU ticket so I can go to the game.

Just got done with a bridge deck. They'll have their curing compound down within the hour. Then I'm going to Walmart to buy a couple things for some backpack camping tomorrow night. Until then, I'm bored as hell.

I'm hitting up the Goat Trail, and dropping a car off at Kyle's Landing. We'll probably camp on the Buffalo. It just depends on how early we get out there. I prefer to set up camp near a rapid.
My cousin is moving away in a couple weeks, and we've both been dying to hike it. I'm looking forward to it, since I've never done an overnight hike. Between that and there's party supplies, it should be a lot of fun.

I've done a lot of hammock camping lately. Mostly at the Beaver Lake Sail Club. I actually just got a really nice hammock yesterday, that I'm dying to try out.
I've already done a lot of camping on the banks of the Buffalo. I love overnight paddles in a canoe. It's like car camping, but with nobody around. I'll bring big cooler for food and beer for the second day, and a day pack for beers on the first day.
I hate campgrounds. I stayed at Steele Creek on my first trip, and hated how close the sites were. I usually try to hit National Forests, where you can set up anywhere that doesn't have a sign saying not to.

2.5 for me. And it does suck. But I'll be off nights within the month. Plus, I've gotten to learn a lot while making really great money. So I can't complain.

It's a bitch. And for me, I'll never completely be in the clear. The construction industry is like that. But I definitely can't bitch. There aren't many jobs where someone without a degree, can make more than an engineer. Plus, automation can't replace me.
But I'm putting in my dues. The more experienced you are, the less it's required. But big concrete pours have to happen at night. So they'll always be an occasional shift at night.

I never had any interest in learning to sew, until moving to Nola and playing in parades. I wish I was crafty like that. But I've got my skills.
I'd say just get some nylon rope, and tye knots. But you can get suspension straps for about $30.
I wish I could make my own tarp. The traps in hammocks can cost more than the hammock itself. But it's not supposed to rain tomorrow, so I'll eventually buy one. I've just spent way too much money the last couple weeks.
