Glass of wine sounds awesome right now.

But it would just make me too sleepy right now.

Hey Jbeam, hope you have been well

All online.

Each class is 5 weeks long. This class ends in December and then my final class starts in January.

I though you were already a RN.

What are you trying to specialize in?

Man...in the heyday? We'd go until the GMT.

It wasn't all that long ago. Things change so fast. I'm so much of a different person/poster I was back then. In some ways at least.

I got old. Quick. Too many life events in too short a time. All that shite aged me. Completely changed my mindset.

Life is crazy. In your 20s you have all these ideas about how life is and how it's supposed to be. And by 30 you have a completely different viewpoint.

In your 40's you start burying the generation ahead of you, family and coworkers. That's picked up its pace each year that's passed.

Odd to realize that kids who weren't born yet for Sept 11, 2001 will be driving next year.

Moral, time fricking flies and your perception of it speeds up with age.

Things have been intense and just insane lately for me. Between stress from work, school, and helping my family I feel like a rubber band stretched and about to snap. I can't remember the last time I had a day off that I could just leisurely enjoy. But I'm hanging in there, and most importantly....my family is doing better.

My dad just bought a used minivan today, we found him something with low miles that was in his limited budget. Still searching for housing, but they are safe and settled at my aunt's house for now and can stay there as long as they need to. My husband and I will go over there tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with them.

I am an RN, my hospital is forcing all of us to obtain our BSN before 2020 or we will lose our jobs.

Someone from my school called me a couple weeks ago to comment on my GPA(I have a 4.0 currently) and asked me if I wanted to obtain my Masters after I get my BSN. Had to bite my tongue from telling her "Hell NO!"

We need to catch up one day.

Needless to say, I'm looking for a change of pace and I'm over Louisiana.

Ain't that the truth.

Especially once you have kids.
They are infants shitting their diapers and you blink. Then they are walking and talking and you blink again.

Then they are in school. You aren't as young as you were. Your knees hurt. Your back hurts. Things you didn't know could hurt, hurt.

You start to cherish the snuggles, the lazy rainy days watching movies cuddled on the couch, making up silly songs.

Your time becomes more finite, more valuable, and you realize more clearly how dear it is. You bury people you grew up with. You see the ones who you watched grow into men and women.

You see so clearly the fleeting nature of our mortality.

It's sobering
