I had a broken arm set at Sunrise back when I thought I could ride vert.
They talk much about the shooting? I know Sunrise got the lions share of casualties.

Haven't been there since the shootings. My last work out towards the east was in Utah/Wyoming.
I have met plenty of people that were there though. Met one kid who was shot in the elbow. He was still slinged as it was only two weeks after.
Said it felt like something bit him. He got shot and knew he was in trouble and started running. Felt light headed as he was sprinting. Passed out and was told his buddy carried him out of there. Woke up in the hospital. Soft spoken kid.

A sheriff deputy friend of mine got shot in the hand during a fugitive warrant bust.
I asked him what it felt like.
He said, “you know how you see people on TV that get shot during shootouts and they just keep shooting back? It’s nothing like that. It fricking feels like your whole body is on fire”.

I read this as head first.... Somewhat disappointed when I reread it.

i'd have to be in serious peril for my adrenaline to kick in that much and overcome pain or channel strength. otherwise, i'm like a roly-poly when in danger. i'd run maybe one lap around the living room and collapse into a ball.

Well I guess he didn’t want to disappoint you. Becausd he killed himself 2 years ago with a bullet through the roof of his mouth.

We were friends but not close friends. He had some very heavy demons he couldn’t shake. He had gotten fired from the Sherriffs Department just a few years shy of qualifying for his pension.
I think being a cop was all he knew how to do.
