Not a beer guy and sticks to other places. He liked it though. He hangs out at some Wine Bar mostly with coworkers

But housing costs a little more in Scottsdale (but we only pay $1500/month for the 3 bed/2 bath house with garage and decent sized backyard that we rent). But wherever you live at in PHX metro...you can easily find lots of stuff to do near you.
But they are right next to each other. You can be driving and one minute you are in Scottsdale, next Phoenix or Tempe.

Friend of mine was gonna drive to Rocky Point one weekend by herself to get away.
Glad I could talk some common sense into her head and talk her out of that idea
I do have friends that go to Circus Mexicus there every year. I'm sure if you went with a group you would be ok.
