I got called to Brother Nicholas's office in high school and couldn't figure out what I had done wrong.
He was an avid stamp collector and one of the ladies in the office saved all the envelopes for him to scour through looking for something specific.
My dad had mailed something months before and there was some defect in the stamp that made it rare & collectible. Because it was cancelled with a postmark, the value to him was basically gone but I had to swear that I would look for that sheet of stamps when I got home and bring him one if dad still had them.
I found it and brought the sheet the next day to give to him. He insisted that he pay face value for them, gave me the money and instructed me not to spend that money, bring it home and give it to my dad.

I totally understand his joy at finding something cool. I have never bought any coins to collect, but love searching through rolls of circulated ones for old coins and mint errors. It feels like a treasure hunt.

Brother Nick was the disciplinarian for years, was the case when both of my older brothers went there. He "retired" to the bookstore but still definitely kept an office when I was there.
