I 100% agree with this. If someone really wanted to change Washington they would start there but no one does
Turn off the money faucet? Nope. That'll never happen. But that's the real swamp that needs draining.

I have one beef with how the Democrats group the welfare recipients and the older retirees together as the entitlement class. They scream they are taking your stuff away when people scream about welfare reform. My stance you are a retiree or collect social security that you paid into you get your money. You got these baby factories/baby mommas not doing shite but mooching then if you ain't trying to work or just manipulating the system then frick you. Rant over welfare is killing this country.

I've got plenty of beef myself with welfare. But I do feel we need a social safety net. People have problems that are beyond their control, shouldn't end up homeless, imo. But reform is definitely needed.

In debate there is a phenomenon where those on different sides of a debate perceive their opponent as being more extreme than they actually are.
I'm friends with far more democrats than republicans and they all agree welfare needs to be reformed. I think where the democrats disagree is they see corporate welfare as the bigger problem right now.
How many people on welfare is equal to one company hiding millions of dollars in profit offshore to avoid paying taxes? Or receiving government subsidies?
I know nobody will believe this because the media and political parties have is so polarized but...
If you talk to everyday people on the actual issues you'd find that the vast majority hold similar values, they just disagree on how to uphold them.

Very well said. And I think you just described me too.
I work with some people that his very different views. But the we talk, the more we agree. And there's not many people in the construction industry in Arkansas that openly admit to being liberal. But when they get liberal, they think of the furthest left views, which is what they read online or wherever. But a white chick with purple dreadlocks is definitely not the voice of the majority of the left. Even if she has a blog.
I've always said we the majority of Americans have more similarities then differences. But a alarmist media has created a large divide amongst us. Which is what the world's oligarchs want.
Hopefully that made sense. I'm fricking beat. But have to stay up for 4-5 more hours waiting on damn pest control.
