Who would have thought people that are already paying 10.5% tax are sick and tired of getting taxed to death? Livingston Parish Schools have a $400 million budget. Maybe the Sheriff's office can quit buying $40,000 Tahoes for the deputies that serve papers and move it to the schools?

ETA: 54% voted No

State contract price for Police Tahoe is $36,000 for 4WD

Not that I was under the impression that you were smart or anything, but damn if you didn’t just go out of your way to prove yourself to be a dumbass.

If they had left out raises for the school board it may have passed.

It’s almost like they purposely sabotaged this tax.

Bruh, the sheriffs office and school board are completely separate and do not impact one another. It is a sad day for Livingston schools. Before long they’ll be joining EBR and Tangi in school scores!

Lol.

Scores are based mostly on demographics, not budget

Some of the worst school districts in country have the most funding

Why would you not give them raises? I saw their Superintendent makes like 100k less than the super in Ascension. Y’all dumb in LP.

Exactly. Yet those voting no think central office is bloated. The turnip can’t be squeezed any tighter. Our teachers deserved better.

Non-certified teachers = lower scores which will make LP look even more like their stereotype. Lower scores = middle class people start moving or new people move to AP, Central and Zachary.

Ultimately the students determine the quality of the school.

They just got a raise in 2021. A starting teacher there makes 45K. That’s pretty good for 6 months of work a year and 7.5 hour days.

Eh, people move because of demographics more than “school scores” imo

And demographics in Central and Zachary are about to trend worse than LP
