That guy has about a 50/50 chance of passing that test. He was doing pretty good until he overcounted 30 seconds by about 10 or 20 seconds.

He went past 30 by a decent margin but the other tests didn't seem like enough to get him on. I would like to know what the officer was writing the whole time though.

I was rooting for him.

Yeah, I was wondering if he was just noting observations as the tests went along.

Dumbest arrest of the night goes to the old man and prostitute in Columbia. Police should have just left them alone and it really wouldn't shock me if they end up not bringing charges to either one.

I don't know what he was looking for, but it was almost as if he was trying to continue pushing the guy until he fricked up, and you could see by the look on his face that he may have gotten what he wanted out of the 30-second test.

I was really hoping they'd go back to show the dumbass who pulled over three cars at once on the interstate. You know his superiors were watching and shaking their head at him parking his cruiser in the middle of the interstate.

Where do St. Tammany deputies come from? I doubt Mandeville and Madisonville residents are lining up to be cops. So does Slidell and Pearl River produce all the applicants?

Any cops in here know about this test? I'm sure counting to thirty has something to do with it, but it looked like the cop looked up close at his nostrils when he started counting. At first I thought the counting part was just a distraction.

Found this on Google.

quote:

When giving the Rhomberg balance test, police normally keep in mind the following six factors when gauging whether or not a suspect is impaired.

The amount and direction in which the suspect sways
The suspect's estimated passage of 30 seconds
Eyelid tremors and/or body/leg tremors
Muscle tone (either more rigid or more flaccid than normal)
Any statements or unusual sounds made by the subject when performing the test
Suspect's overall ability to follow instructions.3

The guy in question seemed to do all of that well except for his actual counting of 30 seconds.

Me either. It doesn't seem like the counting part is what the cop is really looking for though.

A good bit come from the country areas of the Parish. Folsom, Bush, Goodbee, etc.
