I have a friend who make around 65ish with a wife who doesn't work and 2 kids and he lives comfortably in south Louisiana. Money threads on the OT always make me laugh

I made ~$60k a year coming out of college about 10 years ago. I maxed out 401k, saved a little, and otherwise could afford most everything I wanted to do.

Well considering the medium household income in Louisiana is 44k I'd say yeah a single person can live just fine on 55k.
