Duke-UNC is probably the top basketball rivalry in the country.
NC State-UNC football is big local rivalry.

Moved from Wake Forest to SE LA. Zero regrets. Love the Gulf Coast.
That said, I think most of the comments are accurate. Four distinct seasons like clock work. Heads-up, the first winter will be noticeably colder and longer than BR.
Raleigh is in a great location. Mountains, beaches, and DC all within easy driving distance.
Food and fishing will be dropoff. NC BBQ is the lowest form of BBQ (and of course TX the highest).
Great place to raise kids. Falls Lake us beautiful and Blue Jay Point an excellent park.
