LHSAA says nothing at all until at least June 8. Conflicting info about camps.

“The brief list of bullet points says no activities, including workouts, practices, banquets, etc., can be held until at least June 8 and details on what is allowed will be available closer to June 8.”

Memo below seems to allow camps with restrictions to me

frick em, this is when more schools will start to split.

They don’t all need the LHSAA permission.

No school is splitting over this. The vast majority of principals are in complete agreement.

Some already did last year, hence the separate football championships

No summer camps... does that mean they can't host camps for younger kids, or that they can't send football teams to summer camps like Manning Passing Academy?

Also... how we gonna have travel ball tournaments but no summer workouts for high schoolers?

Send the high school kids to the local gyms that are opening

From reading Bonine’s release:

So the LHSAA is not letting them start Phase 1 even though the Governor allows it.

Phase 3 is football, basketball, soccer, and wrestling.

Definitely makes for a tight timeline for Louisiana high school football in the fall per that.

Which is actually worse... it's better for these kids to be able to train at their schools...

I hate the LHSAA so much...

They didn't split from the LHSAA; they just held separate championship sites.

The majority of sports governed by the LHSAA are still unified.

Hell this is what we used to do anyway. Either split by Varsity/JV, position, offense/defense, etc.

Half would do the weight workout and the other half would go outside for cardio then rotate.

How does this affect the metro baseball season that is supposed to start at the end of May? Teams are school based but not officially the schools team.

Not LHSAA governed but I would be surprised if schools allowed this to happen. Huge liability risk.

2D, NOCA and other private organizations that aren’t affiliated with schools are plowing ahead.
