All the art student has to do is say that he/she did it to signify the persecution of the gay community and that it was simply symbolic of the oppression that members of the LGBT community faces on a daily basis and the student will be celebrated for bringing light to such a touchy social issue.
The black community doesn't have time to be offended by the gay community. There are too many right wing white Devils out there to be offended by.
