But in all likelihood, the law protects the public school in this instance, which is my point. The fraternity members can do as they see fit, but they should understand their rights a little better.
Eh, I honestly believe the school pulled this stunt not thinking anyone would dare challenge them. They're being challenged, and immediately backed off on some of those restrictions. No matter which side you believe would win, they're on some pretty shaky ground right now.
F. King has a history of saying and doing stupid shite. This is just another example.
There are enough lawyers saying they're toeing the line for it to at least be a good legal battle.

Frats and sororities are antiquated, useless institutions.
Yeah useless organizations that raise tens of thousands, if not more, in charitable donations every year. They organize blood drives, food/can drives, and a plethora of other philanthropic events. They put in thousands of community service hours ever year. They make up a large part of student government and other student organizations that do good for LSU. They build houses every year and helped with disaster relief after the flooding here and across the state. All these things they do, they do to help the community, not for any sort of gain on their part. So if they are useless, what the frick does that make you?

This guy.
Who is also an LSU Law Professor. There are quite a few lawyers on Facebook questioning it as well.

Why do you need the organization to do these things?
Would you do them without being mandated to do so?

It allows for much easier fundraising and coordination. It also ensures a smooth transition year after year.

Who cares? That is irrelevant.

DKE does not own their land, that's a myth that people have been spreading for years that just is not true.

They need to stand in the roads blocking ALL of the traffic after the game, that would be fun

There is no law that says you can't drink until you are 21... I can see you, like most people, are not knowledgeable on Louisiana law. There is however an alcohol possession law. So legally you can drink under the age of 21 if you are on private property.
This is actually true. Wish more people knew the law.

Same goes for drug use.
It's not illegal to use them. Just illegal to possess them.

It's the same in Louisiana and Wisconsin. Where people get tripped up is the definition of "minor". In the case of alcohol laws in WI and LA, the definition of minor is anybody under the age of 21 not 18

if it weren't for pc and federal funds these two states probably wouldn't have any type of drinking laws, there were very few when I was a kid

The students can whine all they want, nothing will change.
If the Greek alumni start to care, then somethings may change. There are quite a few weathly baws that currently have kids in the Greek system.
