First of all...those folks in the early 1900's don't play.

I'm curious how many of you in business are feeling the effects of the boom? Have you noticed an experience gap as the boomers retire?

I wish less people had kids. Seriously, there are alot of kids raising kids out there....and I'm not talking about just the teenagers. Some people well into their 20s and 30s that just should never have ever had children.

That chart is a lie. This board proves there are more babies per 1000 people

Also, people from 100 years ago had a weak pull out game

Problem is, the people who shouldn't have them have several and the people that should ( people that will instill morals and good work ethic) barely have more than 1.

Generally true except for Catholics and Mormons, otherwise seems like the default is 2 kids for normal people.

Let's talk about our consumption based economy in a country that isn't making babies fast enough to replace people as they die, at least in the long term.

What boom?

This is staggering and extremely worrisome in the oil biz. No one retires anymore until 70. The boom/bust cycle has wiped out an entire generation (Gen X) from ever entering the industry. Folks are either 55 or ~30, I'm exaggerating but not by much. The good news is that the young folk use technology that wasn't available: landmen have online databases, reservoir engineers have depletion software, and so on.
