Lets say that ghosts are real things

Why would a ghost be conformed to a particular body only at a particular point in time? And why would it be confined to only a particular space? Is there a hard-line drawn where it can go or not go? Like a line in the sand? What purpose do ghosts serve in the grand scheme of things?

Doesn't this assume the ghost can interact with the causal universe? A physically bound ghost seems ridiculous.

Ghosts are real. Ask any elderly black woman. I thought it was BS too.
I saw a blue white vapor on a dirt swamp road, but not until miss Julia mae told me it was coming before I saw it. It floated through the moss then against the wind!,dogs howled and chickens came off roost!
Later that night I saw green yellow clouds in the swamp. Ms. Julia Mae said it was evil haints because not bluish.
I thought all of it was will o the wisp.(swamp gas) but every fowl roosted in the swamp went crazy and beavers were slapping tails...was a full moon too
