i found out that i have lesions on both kidneys. What causes this and what harm are they? I look up kidney lesions and their causes and types but they all mention cancer and tumors.

But the dr in the ER never even told me I had these lesions. i requested a copy of my blood, urinalysis and MRI reports and found out about the lesion after i left the hospital.

i also found out my bloodwork, hepatic levels and urinalysis were also "abnormal. I have lots blood , crystals and protein in my urine. NONE of that was ever mentioned either by them. i would never known if i did not get a copy of the labwork.

TL:DR so who knows about kidney lesions?

Thanks Cosmo, that would be good news. i am so puzzled why he didnt bother to mention them so they could be monitored. i would at least appreciate if he had told me I had them and explain they may likely be cysts.

There report also said i had diverticulitis which again they did not mention to me.

I'm just mystified that they found so much abnoral and failed to inform me of it.

Probably diverticulosis, not itis.

Also extremely common and nothing to do about it

This is the problem with patients seeing all their tests, they have no idea how to interpret it and Dr Google always makes things sound terrible.

They gave me the report and i did not consult "Dr Google' except find out what the abbreviations for the abnormal things meant.

But why didnt they mention the lesions on the kidneys, the diverticulosis (which my auto correct changes to diverticulitis) and no mention of the lesion on my L-5?

They were also not concerned that i have mysteriously lost over 25 lbs in just a few weeks time but I eat normally. Yet every day i lose more, no matter what i eat.

Blood and Protein in the urine is not good. Did they diagnose you with a UTI? Some crystals in the urine can be normal, depending on the ph of the urine.
I don't know a thing about lesions.

Why don't you take these results and make an appointment with your PCP to discuss them?

After all...it's your PCP...they will know you better and be more familiar with your health history than a physician in the ER who has never laid eyes on you before you walked in the ER. Then they can refer you to specialists if they felt it was necessary.

Because none of that shite matters?

Doctors are scared as hell of getting sued. They arent going to ignore something just because

If you are worried about it, you could always go see your PCP. If they think its serious they will refer you to a Urologist. Most likely, they are cysts which are completely benign and upwards of 90% of people develop them over there lifetime. The reason you werent told about them is probably because they knew it was harmless and it would only worry you.

If you have blood in your urine, then i would go to your PCP and let them know this. They should do another urinalysis to look for blood again. If it is still there, then they should refer you to urologist. Urologist would then do a cystoscopy and CT Urogram. ER docs arent going to tell you about every single thing they find on a scan. They tell you about what is acutely wrong, and decide whether or not you need to be admitted

I have already been referred to specialists at LSU.

I'm just puzzled they found so many abnormalities in the blood, urine, mri and only mention that constrictions on my colon.

They just totally ignored the lesions on my colon and spine, diverticlosis, the abnormal blood, liver and urinalysis and not mention that to me.

This is the ER doctor if she gives him a detailed family history(based on the family histories she has posted on here)

Because it likely wasn't important. It's the ER and they likely have a ton of patients to see. They aren't going to take the time to go over every single lab result that isn't crucial to your chief complaint.

You have to realize that the ED is not a willy nilly clinic. They arent there to go over your entire medical history. If they did, the wait times would be even worse than they are now

I bet she is the type that sees her PCP for one thing..then when the appointment is almost done she lists off 5 other issues she is having.

i never complained that they did not take full medical history nor did i want to do so. I described the medical issues that brought me there which were what i wanted diagnosed or treated.

My complain was they found many things wrong (per test results) and did not tell me anything about those abnormalities.
