Having watched a family member die of dementia I pray this exit is available if I draw that card. If not I'll take matters into my own hands. If you've never seen that up close and personal, it's worse than you can envision

My question, to you, is what would be stopping you from taking matters into your own hands to begin with? Why involve medical professionals?

Risk of being too frail to carry it out myself, unavailability of the means to do so, possibility of botching the job, not wanting to leave a mess for family or first responders to clean up. Those are some reasons.
A family friend shot himself rather than face dementia. It would have been a lot less traumatic for everyone if he'd been able to swallow a pill and go to sleep holding his wife's hand.

Religious involvement in government.

That’s why I clearly stated that it wasn’t the same thing. It’s an analogy. Yet, they are similar. They both involve a person nearing the end of their path making a choice to spare others the heavy burden of care, amongst other things.

Big Pharma’s high cholesterol scam is the root of the rising Alzheimers & dementia patients.
