Lawn Mower Gas Smell

So after cutting the grass a couple of days ago my lawnmower is causing my garage to have a gasoline smell. I don't see any visible signs of a gas leak or anything. Anybody have any idea what could be causing the problem?

Do you have a filter in your carburetor?

Too much fiber
Carburetor float is probably stuck open due to needle not seating properly. Could be primer bulb cracked, fuel line, etc. Quick fix is to drain gas tank and fix it in the spring or toss a lit match on the mower.

open garage door, remove lawn mower
allow door to remain open, add fad to assist in stank removal
close door
go back in the house for a cpl hours to allow time for that stank to dissipate
now go back n check
if it's almost normal, it's the damn mower and you'll need to use engine wash on it to clean it and then dry it.
afterwards, put a large hunk of cardboard underneath it, to see what drips out and from where
sure could be a clogged filter and or a stuck float as well...perhaps a hairline crack in the fuel line..

Mine does this from time to time. I guess from the vibration. There's a little bowl (I forgot what it's called, I'm no mechanic) on the front of the engine. Under it, there's a screw that serves as a plug. Make sure that's tight.
That 1 of 158 possible reasons why lol

Personally I like the smell.

Rider or walk behind?
Rider - could be stuck needle, fuel soleniod loose in the bowl of carb, fuel line at filter is loose, etc. fuel soleniod not closing ( designed to open let fuel in when turn key on and goes up to stop fuel when key turned off. Sits in bottom of bowl of carb and don't take much stick)
Walk- primer bulb if applicable cracked some units do not have it due self priming. fuel line from tank cracked ethanol fuel eats hose coating from inside, needle stuck in carb.
I wouldn't say valves loose on engine that happens but I think more of fuel line (ethanol fuel eating up, or carb needle stuck.

Check your oil level and smell the oil to see if gas is contaminating it. If your having carburetor problems you could screw up the oil.

what makes you think the smell is coming from the lawn mower? isn't the container of gas that you filled the mower with in the same building? if so it vent's off vapor too.
