A strong command of the English language and the ability to think rationally and overly emotionally are usually required skillsets. Although that is rapidly diminishing.
There are a number of second generation middle eastern immigrants who do well, especially in the billboard lawyer market.

Every dentist and orthodontist i know makes bank and has a pretty high quality of life. Pretty standard work hours - nothing crazy. In fact a lot of their offices are closed on Friday or at least part of Friday. They take their whole staff on luxury vacations. Fairly low stress - not a lot of blood and usually you cant kill someone through dentistry like a medical doctor.
I dont really know any broke struggling dentists. i know plenty of lawyers out there struggling.
