The explanation from the State police was about the logistics of establishing contraflow and the evacuation.
Apparently certain things are required like fuel trucks stationed at certain exits and those were not available in time.
Obviously, whatever the plan we have needs to be revisited

frick latoya, but "no time to implement contraflow" (whether it's her fault or not) doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't get the hell out

There was plenty time. NHC forecasted the storm path for 5 days. That's BS. Those knuckleheads knew it was coming, and did nothing. Definitely, incompetence by her and JBE.

Didn't she say there was no time for a "mandatory" evacuation, which would require more mobilization and coordination (like going door to door), and instead told people to get out now.

Maybe. I just haven’t heard of any deaths. Maybe one, but I don’t remember if the guy died who’s house caved in uptown
Just a weird time for stupid political shite. Low to no fatalities reported is the main thing. Which is a huge win. A ton of people did get out.
