New Orleans Faces a Virus Nightmare, and Mardi Gras May Be Why

quote:
Orleans Parish, which shares its borders with the city of New Orleans, has suffered the highest number of deaths per capita of any county in the nation. Of the parish’s 46 deaths — more than two times the death toll of Los Angeles County — 11 are from a single retirement home, where dozens more residents are infected.
In a grim irony, there is a rising suspicion among medical experts that the crisis may have been accelerated by Mardi Gras — the weekslong citywide celebration that unfolds in crowded living rooms, ballrooms and city streets — which this year culminated on Feb. 25.
quote:
Doctors and nurses at city hospitals, like hospital workers all over the country, describe a dire shortage of critical protective gear. The Cajun Navy, one of the informal Louisiana volunteer brigades famous for rescuing people from floodwaters, and the Cajun Army have delivered several boxes of masks and gallons of hand sanitizer to medical workers.

allowing Mardi Gras to go on
I don't think you can blame her for this. Lots of events with crowds happened around the world prior to getting serious with lockdowns.

'They should have come to me.'
Yep that's stupid.

She didn’t seemed worried about corona during Mardi Gras. Giving a toast and keys to the city to mannie fresh, juvi, tromboneshorty She’s either been drinking or maybe she always sounds like this.

At it again on The View this morning. Locking people up into a non-social distancing environment because they went outside...brilliant. /sarcasm

She's an idiot.
But, let's be honest. Do we really believe Mardi Gras in the culprit?
There were big events all over the US in February.
N.O is one of the unhealthiest big cities in America.
Detroit is as well.
NYC most dense.
Is it surprising that the most dense, and least healthy cities get rocked by an infectious respiratory disease?

When did Trump call CV a hoax?
Feb. 28th at a Rally
Not sure if that was the first time.
This, of course, is a lie.
In context, Trump did not say in the passage above that the virus itself was a hoax. He instead said that Democrats’ criticism of his administration’s response to it was a hoax.
This is true. Unfortunately, the Washington Post seemed to use this info to claim that Trump said the virus was a hoax (a lie...much like your lie that you posted). The author of that article "clarified" her "misunderstanding" later (muuuuch later actually), but by then, she had set the narrative for people with TDS.

Her issue wasn't not cancelling Mardi gras. She would've never done it nor should anyone blame her for not doing it.
Her issue is acting like everything I just said should be completely ignored and trump should've been more serious so she would've cancelled Mardi gras.
