He doesn’t have a med-mal case.

He’s saying what he did was medical malpractice, not criminal. A med-mal case typically gets turned over to an insurance company and any following litigation is in civil court, and he thus wouldn’t be facing imprisonment.

ETA- doubtful that any malpractice claims are filed against him. Plaintiff attorneys know his insurer won’t indemnify. They’ll go after other deep pockets instead; Michigan state, USA gymnastics, etc.

USA Gymnastics took the cure. Filed bankruptcy a couple of weeks ago.
