They take nursing home residents to strip clubs in Midland/Odessa? I know where I am retiring.

If an actual landman ever did any physical work, it would be a first. And I would fully expect the results of said work to be the same. In real life, the bald attorney sitting in the kitchen all day dealing with contracts would be the landman.

There is not much in that show that is accurate about the oilfield in the last 30 or more years. I have known several Landmen since the early 80s and not a single one had anything to do with day-to-day operations on a drill or production site. They handle leases and contracts and little else in my experience.

The kid is going to be the landman, not Tommy.

He's been general manager, a position I would also be surprised to see out mangling fingers closing a valve on a burning well, the entire show until elevated to VP-ops then president.

Not terribly inaccurate.

Yeah, its such a small thing. Just call the lawyer in the kitchen the "landman" and give Billy Bob the title of "project superintendent" . Then again, a series titled "Project Superintendent" doesnt exactly roll of the tongue.

And honestly, the only real life landman duties I saw being performed was when his son went door to door trying to purchase mineral rights from landowners. Granted, most of my knowledge on the matter was when I was a landman for about 15 mins in 1993.

I haven't watched much of it. That makes more sense. Some of what I saw did remind me of some of the shoestring drillers and operators you occasionally run across on land. But nothing like any mid or major would allow to happen.

Walmart plus includes basic paramount. You have to watch commercials though. Or upgrade it.

Show is entertaining. I wouldn’t say it’s good, but BBT is good, storyline is decent, but the whorishness of the mom/daughter seems unnecessary.

Having watched Yellowstone previous, what little plot line there is to Landman, felt pretty cheapened. It’s essentially find/replace, in word.

That said it’s worth a casual watch

Well I know what was under the whipped crème now.

The show being good is just a bonus after that.

It’s a fine show

Every storyline but Billy Bob’s is pretty meh

Acting and dialogue are awful in aforementioned storylines

Typical Yellowstone cheesiness and some overt pandering

I love it whenever the main character is on screen, though.
