I have Allstate and they've been solid through the whole thing. We did have a serious claim with multiple trees through the house, so I made sure they knew that early on, and I got a very experienced field adjuster 4 days after the storm.
The desk adjusters pushed back on his initial claim amount, so they sent an additional field adjuster to my house about 4 weeks later. Have now received checks for Dwelling and Contents and cant complain about either. I receive multiple calls from different adjusters each week, so I feel like they are checking up on me, and I'm not having to track them down.
No supplemental claims just yet, but those will come down the road.
Got to pick a GC now, and am being told 6-10 months to get the house rebuilt. No one is sure what the construction market will look like over the next year...

So after making a complaint to manager they approve new roof rather than send another adjuster out. Not complaining, just shows they knew i needed new roof yet hoped I would just accept a patch job.

Recently got my insurance estimate and it’s a complete joke. I told my state farm agent that their adjuster missed so much and the agent said “well there are so many claims that they don’t really have time to be very detailed so you just need to submit supplemental claims” I told him that this shouldn’t be a fricking game and if their adjuster just skimmed over my damages then we should be using my public adjusters estimate (which is 4 times larger), because my estimator actually went through everything in detail.

In the same boat man. Ridiculous but it’s the name of the game to pay the least amount possible.

Yes, this seems to be the standard for many of the insurance agencies here. If they dont pay total claim, then they "win". Be prepared to hire an attorney and public adjuster if necessary. Also read your policy specifically about the insurance company's 30-day requirement to issue a claim or payment after proof of loss. This is a unique Louisiana rule from what I hear, and not all insurance companies are familiar with it. Can lead to them paying 50% more than your final claim... Good luck.

Baggett McCall put huge red signs up in their yard.
I feel better after last phone conversation with adjuster that physically walked my home. Haven’t dealt with a desk adjuster yet, but he put me at ease a bit about being taken care of in the long run.
I think my initial settlement will end up being about half of what is needed when all is said and done, especially after AC diagnostic today.

I’m not in the mood to play that game. I was advised to request Actual Cash Value and it starts the 30 day clock.

FEMA contract adjusters were at the house looking over my wet carpets. She kept insisting that she needed pics of the water standing in my front yard.
Kept telling her by the time the mandatory evac was lifted, the water had drained away. Lucky my neighbor had pics with just enough of my house showing to satisfy her and those approving the payment.
Now we will see just how good this supplemental flood insurance really is.

Contact a third party adjuster and skip the "Esquires", you are giving each a cut from your claim by the redundancy. The guy i have been sending my clients to takes 10% of total but they don't do personal only commercial claims.
GC says they are dropping shingles at my house Friday so hope Manuel is on roof monday morning. Plenty additional water damage from delta so GC will be busy after the roof is on.
Best advise i can give is get your GC in your house to work up the numbers and forward to desk adjuster. Make sure your guy has a Louisiana contractors license because it will be checked.

Have talked to numerous GC's and many of them bring the insurance adjuster along with their package. Any additional claim funds that they can get from insurance, they get 3-5% of that cut. Only the additional claim, not the total claim. At 3-5%, I think that is a good bargain, and a win-win.

Welp, about 40% of the roof redone after Laura has to be redone after Delta. Wonderful.
