The comments about claiming to want less government only to beg for federal government help are correct though. Which is it?

Wait, I missed where the city of Lake Charles is living in an alternate US with less government. Just because they want less government doesn't mean they get less government.

What an idiotic statement.

I passed through Lake Charles yesterday and thought about making a thread about its condition 1 year later. I was only on I-10 but it looks terrible. How have they not replaced the windows in the only tall building in town after 11 months?

I don’t have a dog in the fight but I’ve wondered what the local political scene was like. I knew it had to be nasty but maybe it’s all focused AGAINST the Feds and not against each other.

I think we need to do away with online anonymity and bring back public dueling.

Talk shite, get shot in a gentlemanly defense of your honor.

I don’t know either but it’s depressing driving through there. I was not expecting it to still look like that 11 months later. I remember JBE downplaying the devastation and said that Lake Charles dodged a bullet. Must have dodged the bullet but not the grenade.
