Johnny and I were both in the Corps and went over to Vietnam together in 1969. He was assigned to a desk job in First MARDIV in DaNang. I was sent to the DMZ as a grunt in Third MARDIV.

My dad was with D Co 1/5….”Dying Delta” in 68-69. They were based out of some fire base just south of DaNang. That was a rough area. He came home shot full of holes, but still kicking. He was pissed when I joined up 23 years later. Semper Fi, Brother.
