I was born late 80s, my little brother was born mid 90s. The gap in our 7 years is huge. I remember before internet was a thing, he doesn’t know life without it. I played outside everyday after school, he played video games. Now that I’m nearing 40 and he’s in his 30s, we have a lot more in common, but it took him getting married, having a family and realizing the world isn’t perfect for him to come around

Yeah I’m 40. We had dial up internet at our house. We got our first home computer when I was like 9 or 10 and didn’t have the internet until I was in like 7th grade. My parents didn’t get high speed until I was in college. Facebook launched at my school junior year of college and it was very basic. Like only a profile picture and a wall. I got a cell phone when I was in 16 but I had no text messaging plan and had 100 minutes a month. It was basically for emergencies since I was driving then. I didn’t get a smart phone until after college. Online gaming wasn’t a thing until I was in college and it was mostly just the first Halo although I didn’t do any of that

I got a phone at 16 only because I was driving at that time. In elementary school, we had a computer in the classroom (1 for all the students) but it was basically just to play Oregon trail and learn to type / Microsoft office. We didn’t get internet at my parents until I was in 8th grade (computer was in my room ). I got FB as a senior in HS but at the time someone in college had to invite you. As far as online games, I did play the he’ll out of counter strike, which was a precursor to call of duty these days. Point being, very different from someone born in the 90s and late 80s babies shouldn’t be lumped in with the millennials

dont think this is exactly accurate. I have always said that my biggest weakness is my lack of empathy. I would love to say that I have become more empathetic as I have grown older but that is also not the case. It just is who I am

I am very hard working person and I dont think I am entitled to anything

The relationship is not your own empathy to your entitlement.

It is your empathy to the entitlement of others.

Remove “empathy” and insert “oh, well bless his heart”.
