For sure I will be making an appointment to see an ortho.

Hold up, swole up.

What I think peeps are telling you is IF you are still hurting after a few days/ REALLY feel the need for medical attn., don't go running to ER/ Walk-in clinic, go directly to an ortho.

But...take care of it first, brace it, baby it. You may luck out and be OK, just watch it for a while.

If you go running to a surgeon...well, they like to cut. Will probably find a reason to cut, too.

Make sure your ins. doesn't require a referral from your primary MD, too.

My advice, if you feel the need for it, is to start with him. He will be able to make the call on what to do next.

DO NOT GO TO THE ER FOR THIS! HUGE Waste of their time and your money if you can walk on it. See an Orthopedist or your Primary Care Provider next week. Ortho can evaluate and determine if you need an MRI or not and do the X-rays on that visit

A "pop" isn't necessarily anything of significance. People just like to associate a specific thing with their experience. Is it swollen? Red? Tender to touch? Does the pain increase with movement/positioning/walking? Answer all those questions and see if the answer have/do chance over the weekend. I bused an adhesion squatting and my knee bruised up but after it healed I could do a full squat haha

If you tore a ligament there will be some swelling.
