Kermit's key lime pie!

We did a sunset sailing cruise, it was pretty relaxing - they give you drinks and apps

Do the tourist train tour - get to see the whole island and learn more about the architecture.

Eat some stone crabs, conch fritters

All of the people that are making gay jokes are probably the idiots that have never been to Key West. Yeah, there's a few down there, but they aren't going to attack you or anything. Good lord.

Things to do:

Breakfast at SaraBeth's/Blue Heaven
Sunday Brunch at Dante's
Dinner at Louie's Backyard/Lattitudes
Cracked Conch at the Conch shack on Duval
Seaplane/Ferry to the Dry Tortugas
Fort Zach Taylor is the best bet for a beach, bring water shoes, the rocks suck.
If you like good beer/wine go to The Porch.
Walk around Duval, day drink.
Rent scooters and drive all the way around the island.
Take a haunted history tour
Dive/Snorkel
Fish
Mallory Square sunset
If you feel like getting lost, go up to Sugarloaf and jump off the bridge at MM17. Ask a local and they'll tell you how to get there. You have to get out of Key West to really experience all that the Keys have to offer.

But mainly, do whatever the hell you want to do. Don't rush. Key West shouldn't feel hurried, you'll learn to love island time.

She-crab bisque at Dante's may be the best thing I've ever eaten.

There's a batshit crazy French guy that makes cats jump through flaming hoops. It's pretty funny.

Husband and I were thinking about going for 10 year anniversary this summer. But, I've been told there aren't any beaches. Is this true?

For the most part, yes. Most of the "beaches" down there are privately owned and the public beaches aren't anything special... The keys don't have big waves being kicked up every few seconds like a lot of nice beaches... The water is basically like a bath tub.

Here's a pic from one of my trips down there. Notice how still the water is.

If you're wanting nice beaches, stay on the gulf coast side of Florida.

Good suggestions in this post.

My dad lived in Key Largo for a few years and I'd go visit him from time to time. Key West is different from most of the other keys. The people down there are always incredibly laid back. Great people, nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live down there for good.

I also went on a bi-plane ride over the keys and it was awesome.

Fun fact:

Key West is neither the westernmost Key nor the southernmost point in the lower 48.

The Southernmost point buoy monument thing also not even the southernmost point on Key West.
