So my microwave seems to be functioning normally except the display no longer shows numbers. The AM/PM is illuminated and only the left side of the scrolling display is illuminated.

Any ideas on how to fix this myself or do I need to buy a new microwave because I’m OCD?

I knew a guy who fixed his own microwave. His lifespan was shortened by the resulting exposure to microwave radiation. Be careful.

Locate parts list.

You probably need a new UI (user interface).

Shouldnt be a big deal to replace.

No need to get close to the capacitor or magnetron.

Any display issues require a new control board.
You can diy it's the high voltage microwave stuff I don't recommend diyers do.
You can get a lethal shock when they are unplugged.
