so a police state intervention is necessary.
against a highly infectious disease with a high mortality rate? it's likely justified
this is one area that clearly puts me in the "libertarian" group and not the "anarchist" group
this is also likely initial shock and awe to warn others coming back, to decrease teh likelihood of people from those areas coming back to the US

The organizations also have protocols for their ppl to follow
and what happens if this doesn't work properly? like the Dr in NYC (who was also caught lying his arse off) ?
again, that's the problem: self-regulation. it's clear right now that people aren't going to properly self-regulate themselves

Mentally ill patients pose a risk to the public as well as themselves.
often no more than an asymptomatic ebola patient
the potential risk is the issue, not the eminent risk

Because they haven't shown signs of symptoms.
Hickox had a 101 fever when she returned from Ebola-ravaged Sierra Leone. Coincidence? Maybe, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

Ok fine, let her walk around with one condition/understanding. She comes out of pocket for every penny spent to decontaminate her home, the ambulance that picks her up, and the hospital where she is treated... in addition to paying for every penny of her hospital bills and those of ANYONE she infects.
The state tried to put her somewhere easily decontaminated and limit her contact with others. She wants to go on the today show and parade around, put the bill on her then.
This of course assumes she does contract it, which she very well may not. But having the possibility of being liable for a few million dollars might make these idiots actually give a shite.

I don't know the laws of Maine, but in the case of a potential emergency, generally, yes. IWNHI

Agreed. I would go further and say that if she should she infect someone, she's no better than the other Casey. Casey Anthony that is.

She was tested for the virus and it came back negative... Why would she need to be in quarantine?
I would say quarantine her if she's showing signs/symptoms of it, but she isn't showing any signs. She should be allowed to go free.
For the people wanting to lock her in a tent for 21 days, ask yourself how you would fee if she was found to be innocent of a crime but had to remain locked up for 21 days after?

He shouldn't have because liberals are being way more rational when it comes to Ebola, even Obama is being rational. There is ZERO reason for Americans on US soil to worry about Ebola. Anyone that does worry either doesn't understand the disease or is just looking for an excuse to worry.

SFP just said there are laws specifically for this. Hence not illegal. And yes, yes I do. Confine that filthy tramp.

things like teh police, CDC, etc are why i can't go full on anarchist. that doesn't mean that they can't go too far, obviously
this quarantine shite may turn out to be too much, but it may not. that's part of the whole "states are experiments" stuff

I would understand and comply. Simple as that. People keep riding the, "She tested negative. Leave her alone unless she shows symptoms." It's not like there's a precise switch on the virus going contagious. How many times have all of us felt like crap for hours or days before we even bothered to admit we were sick or check to see if we have a fever? As individuals we are self-absorbed. You cannot allow self-monitoring for this very reason.
