I had 100 jumps before I sold my gear and joined the Marines. Go to USPA.org. There will be a list of all United States Parachute Association licensed drop zones. I would only jump at a USPA affiliated DZ. I'm happy to answer any other specific questions you might have.

I used to skydive a good bit. Now we make a few trips a year to Cave of Swallows in Mexico and base jump there. Its incredible.

I went skydiving somewhere just outside of Houma. It was great. I would not do it again but I would
Recommend it.

I've seen and heard this before. Why don't you look at the ground? It's not like Wile E. Coyote walking off the cliff and not falling until he looks down; you're already falling. So, what's the deal?

Not a skydiver myself but I bet it will mess with your body's orientation. The last thing you want to do is go into an uncontrolled tumble.

Working on my A license.

Those who have experience with Skydive Nawlins, how did you like the people that worked there, etc?

Didn't think it was all that great, rationality should prevail. If the guy strapped onto you cares as much about your life as he does his - you're gonna be alright barring mechanical difficulty.

Now, flying solo is a totally different animal.

No way! The adrenaline rush is too great. I didn't get nervous until my 3rd or 4th dive. The first two were pure excitement.

Me and my girlfriend did Skydive Nawlins last year. It was kind of a weird experience, as we tried to go 4 times unsuccessfully before everything finally working out. 3 times we were cancelled because of weather, which is of course not their fault. The 4th time we were all strapped up ready to go, but the plane was having problems, so we couldn't go.

Finally we were able to go, but not without another problem, only one of the instructors showed up, and 10 people ahead of us were waiting to jump. Everyone had to go one at a time, we were the last 2. That one instructor jumped out of the plane 12 times that day.

It kind of ruined the experience though, because it got to the point where we weren't excited anymore, just ready to get it over with. I wasn't nervous at all at that point.

Did it once in New Mexico. I was tethered to a big strapping lad who saw me through it. Would do again if opportunity knocked.
