Yep, went from East to West. I didn't hear a boom but if you're close to Cullman county we probably saw the same one

Saw one at a Phish show once a couple years ago. Flew almost directly over the stage. Didn't think it was real because of the acid until I saw the videos the next day

Can be seen around 2:35 in this video LINK

Probaly low on the horizon, right? That's where I've seen the best ones

Yep. Low on the southern horizon. And Titus is definitely trying to say Cullman is racist and segregated.... Well it's not as bad as it used to be lol

Also could have sworn we heard a boom about 1 minute after the flash like it exploded in the atmosphere.
Kind of how the original movie The Blob started. Saw it when I was 12. I knew it had to eventually happen. Beware!

About a year ago I saw a bright green meteor leaving a smoke train. It was almost dawn and it was seen by a lot of people in the Baton Rouge area. The meteor was over Alabama and north Mississippi. It's an impressive thing to see.

Twice I have seen something similar , both times green with an extensive visual display , and both times it was AWESOME!

What you saw was probably this one:

LINK

13 reports which is quite a few, green, centered on north Alabama.

ETA - same link as previous poster - pretty much has to be it.

Anyone ever seen something similar? Also, what type of materials would cause a meteor to burn green?

I saw one just exactly like that over Birmingham about 2007 or 2008.
It was green and had almost no tail. Seemed much slower and larger than any other meteor I had witnessed before. It wasn't dark out either, so that may have something to do with the lack of visible tail.

Meteor Compilation

Love this video.

I saw what you're describing in a duck blind in Grand Chenier one morning just before daylight. It was amazing, and really lit up the sky being in the marsh with no lights around for miles.
