I listen to Rogan from time to time and I enjoy the shows with authors. He did one with SC Gwynne a few years ago that was memorable. His interviews with authors is more like a NPR show so it may not be for everyone. I have also enjoyed some he has done about hunting. I will also admit that listening to him and Joey Diaz is fun and entertaining. I suspect that is not a popular take but I find Joey Diaz funny and interesting. I seriously doubt 1/3 of his claims are true but I suspect they are true for someone in his circle LOL....

Those episodes are all great. One of the best things about his show, however, is that it’s actually not political. Randomly catching an expert on aging prevention or ancient civilizations is my favorite thing about the show.
I don't listen to a lot of it but I would posit at least 90% of it is not political at all. Its often controversial in that he gives a voice to people who often find it hard to get their voice hear and there is often good reason for it but it also includes a lot of really interesting people and really interesting subjects. To me its mostly like listening to a conversation between a couple of intellectually curious people who do not come off as having all the answers. I try to avoid ALL politics all the time because I find it is not good for my mental health but most of Rogan's stuff is not political...and when it is I simply find another podcast. Again, I haven't listened to a lot of it but that is what my take is from having listened to some of it....

Any fellow comedians: Gillis, Kreisher, Tim Dillon, Bobby Lee
I enjoy his interviews with comedians but, in my opinion, Mark Maron does a better interview with comedians. Maron seems to be less threatening to other comedians, a notoriously threatened group of people. He seems to get more out of comedians than Rogan does, in my opinion. I get the impression that Mark Maron is more of a comedian's comedian than Rogan is. He seems to be more respected by comedians as a comedian.

Sorry i didn't chime in sooner, but thanks to all of you for your input in this thread. Have listened to a Theo Von and Tulsi Gabbard since posting. Great recommendations. Looking forward to listening to other recommendations.

The recent Rogan interview with Josh Brolin was very good. Brolin is very well-read and seems like he would be a cool guy to hang with.

Agreed. Expected to think typical Hollywood douche but he seemed alright.

Graham, Randall and also Jimmy Corsetti rabbit holes of content and come to realize something. Along with Joe Rogan, they all seem, in varying degrees, open to or have in the past done some psychedelic 'experimentation'. Jimmy, the younger of them, seems to have only recently talked about doing it but that makes me wonder a bit..
Randall, for example, points to many possibilities for there being ancient, advanced civilization(s), but he really loses me when he talks about humans in the past having escaped calamity here on Earth by traveling to the moon and waiting things out until Earth was fit again.
I mean, I'm good to buy into a lot of stuff, but getting to and safely residing on the Moon?? That's a hard pass for me.

Rod Blagojevich. He’s a politician to the core but, there is some great insite on how the system works.

Dr Phil and Ted Nugent were both great.
