Didn't realize my work ethic had anything to do with how long I've been at a job. My work ethic must be pretty damn good If I walked in the door and received a promotion to supervisor in an entirely different dept after only 4 months.

I don't know where you work but a 33% layoff is considered a "mass layoff," which falls under the WARN Act (assuming there are more than 100 employees at the company). You are likely owed 2 months pay with benefits. I'd look into this. The same thing happened at my company recently.

My company is hiring millwrights for our West Monroe Office. Not sure if you are interested, but we are looking to pick up a large contract with Mosaic in the near future. www.bdindustrial.com

Coca-Cola usually hires pretty steadily. Have a cousin in NOLA just got on over there. Might have been hired in BR, tho. I'll have to ask.
