Fair enough.
I haven't carried any OSOE gear but I know some swear by it. Always get a laugh out of the cocks!
As far as LBT being "super compatible with body armor," are you talking about plate carriers and problems with SAPIs?
I've never seen anyone have any major issues with LBT gear.
A lot of their better multi-purpose and well laid out rigs (H harness stuff) are a bit 'old school' - which is perfect in most situations - in that they ride a little low. Reminds me a bit of TA50. Awesome to get the load around the waist and near your center of gravity and very good for getting in the prone, but it's just a tad low when you have body armor.
If you can run good soft armor this isn't so much of a big deal, but with hard plates it creates an issue. Also, when you cram a set up like that up on top of armor, then you become so wide it gets hard to buckle into helo seats or get in and out of vics etc. Example, I think they put frag pouches on the sides of multipurpose pouches. Looks logical but the frags take up a good amount of room.
Just my opinion. Everyone's body is different thus fits are always a bit different. Taller, longer torso guys seem to fit LBT well.
From my recollection, the shoulder straps don't have a ton of adjustment in them, so for short guys you can't hike them up far, and when you shorten them to the max the 'H-handle' on the back then rides up too far. Also the waist strap is at the bottom of the rig so it is prone to slip under the armor plate.
OSOE stuff is extremely durable and puts most of the layout of some of the LBT rigs I like in a better system to put on top of armor.
LBT quality is there. I've heard mixed feedback on their customer service though. SEAL Team order - great service. Regular Joe - not so much.
I do like a lot of their assault packs. Simple and bomb proof.
Bottom line is that a lot of people just have to carry too much stuff. When you have a primary, secondary, two radios, frag/smoke, mags, PLB, and other stuff...real estate becomes an issue. So it seems everyone ends up with their favs based on load and body type or whatever.

Yes, I have.
I reviewed their website. It's a bunch of B.S. marketing.
Their products don't have NSNs and they don't have a GSA schedule contract.
That is because their equipment is sub-standard.
Have you compared the two?
At one point in time I owned both so I would say I did a little more than just reviewing their website. I have also done two of their challenges. First of which both TAD and LBT rucks failed. Second time there were zero failures but also the entire class had GORUCK gear.
It should be pointed out that the GR1 was never intended to be an assault pack or to be used with plates. Although some of their gear has been through deployments.

While Im sure it's nice, if I were to get a 20-25L backpack with military style and features, it would more than likely be this Eberlestock X4 Highspeed - $179. Also American made but with an actual hip load belt and multiple compression straps.

I'm a grown man. Why do I need a backpack?

I'm thinking this with a 45lb ruck would be perfect for training for the JMT trip next year
Training maybe, in my experience military-style gear is hit or miss for backpacking.

Looking for a backpack that I can wear while running so that I can run to work and carry items such as:
laptop
clothes, shoes
body wash, shampoo
snacks
other work shite im forgetting about
My routine would be to run to work every morning. There is a gym where I work so I would go shower and change at the gym and then head into the office. Been shopping online but recommendations on here would be good. Havent read this thread yet fwiw if something has been mentioned.

Since I use my back packs for carrying stuff for the family on vacations and outings and for work travel, that thing ain't hittin on shite. I only buy Osprey packs and have for years. Best warranty ever for any product ever made and they honor it 100% of the time no questions asked. The warranty says " any generation, any pack, any problem. Doesn't matter if it's your fault or theirs, what ever goes wrong they will fix or replace it even if you are not the original owner. They used to be made in Colorado but I believe they are made over seas now.
