What should I expect? Should I be prepared to spend the days standing around bored out of my mind? Any tips to make it as painless as possible?

Just did mine a few weeks ago. We watched the Kevin Bacon movie Taking Chance which is kinda like watching paint dry.

You'll be seated in a large room with a couple hundred people. A judge will come by to talk you up. Some losers will make lame excuses to try to get out, but they'll be rebuffed. They'll dim the lights and show crappy movies starring Brendan Fraser. Just after lunch, half will be sent home, but not you. They'll send you home around 3 and tell you to come back. The second day is much like the first, with another half sent home, but not you. The third day, everyone will be sent home at noon.
Wifi will be provided, but it won't work. They'll frisk you every time you enter the building. Downtown Seafood has good burgers and seafood.
