Jealousy is the worst sin to commit, and you're doing it to a priest and his church. Take responsibility for yourself and your church. And donate more if you want to be a good church, don't whine about better churches and how they get theirs. Like Jesus said, don't be jelly.

organized religion strikes again
I believe Joel Osteen is a non-denominational Protestant. Hardly organized.

I have. Lost a long-term marriage over it. I will never forgive those goddamned bastards for what they did to our family. I lost a wife and our kids lost their mother to a goddamned minister who was evidently fricking much of his flock. I would dare say that 95% of those in the ministerial racket ought to be stripped naked, castrated and emasculated in public, then hung by the neck - bowels out. Thereafter, the general public can use their sorry asses hanging corpses for target practice.
I really have a problem with some sociopath standing in a pulpit wearing an $800 suit, driving a $90K car, drawing a six figure salary, and living in a half-million dollar home telling members of the flock who are just barely getting by from paycheck to paycheck that they need to give more, even though they don't have it to give. Again, I refer the reader to the aforementioned public punishment for those bastards.

You should blame the whore who cheated, not the guy she fricked. He's not the one breaking your wedding vows.

Yeah, I got that part. No one is jealous here. My church does fine. But not because our Pastor demands to see a W-2 or tells parishioners to donate 10-15%.
You've got the wrong idea here, Pal.

It takes two to tango. It happens in a lot of churches. I get to see some of the litigation over it. Would have sued the Louisiana United Methodist Conference myself for improper supervision, but my kids were so devastated, that I decided to move forward. There are times I regret that move, but at the time, I decided not to put my kids or my elderly parents-in-law through any more emotional pain. Those bastards really need to be taught a lesson.

This is why I quit attending altogether. I am too old to let someone else tell me how to live or how much of my money to hand over to them. I am spiritual these days, but have written organized religion off altogether. If others want to attend, that's their business and I won't criticize them for it. But it's no longer for me.
My mother was the same way for years. She started attending a church with my sister a while back, and she realized that not all churches are the same. I think she had a bad experience in the past and just wrote it all off. I'm generally not one to tell people what to do, but if one truly follows the Bible, organized religion is a big part of the teachings. All of the letters in the new testament spell out what many denominations follow.

If I needed a urinal I would tell Jimmy to fall to his knees and open his mouth .... and swallow.
Then again, my piss is too good for that motherfricker. I'll just settle for watering a bush or the grass.

Oh I think I've gotta pretty clear picture of what's going on. You've been duped by a lazy preacher who doesn't want to put in the work to make profit for his church and God. Now that the profit margins aren't there, you're telling yourself that it's ok by saying that Osteen isn't the amazing Christian preacher that he is.

Looks like Osteen is blocking people on Twitter who are calling him out for it. You'd think if this was a reasonable logistical reason for closing the church then he'd be making it known instead of just staying silent. He's getting pummeled right now.

You should go back and study how the Bible was really written. There was an agenda by those in control. Much of it was for literary value. It gives good values, but it is strictly allegorical.

Yeah, definitely not true. You are really reaching now. Our church just built a new rec center. Money is not a problem here, and the Pastor doesn't have to tell people how much to donate either. Our entire diocese just had a centennial campaign, and our church pledged something like $450k (more than what the diocese goaled us to raise) to the diocese, in addition to what is given to the church...without being pressured.
Move along.
Move along.

LOL EVERY church is organized my friend. Many of them will pursue what they want and they don't give one goddamn as to who they step on or whose lives they ruin to get it. After, it's for Jeezus, so that makes it ok. Yeah?
NOT EVEN!!!

If his organization is tax-exempt shouldn't it be required to host people in situations like this?
