I've never been to Indianapolis or the north east in general.

Its making a $10-$15 more than I am currently, but a contract to hire position.

Anybody ever been to Indianapolis? How is it?

Not to go all OT on you but I'm hoping you mean $10-15k more? And you realist Indianapolis is not in the northeast right? It's like 2 hours from Louisville.

Fact: largest USA city not on a major body of water.

Eta: if it's a 1099 position for $10-15k more than that's basically the same pay for a salary position of 60-90k depending on your current benefits.

Indy is a nice town with a nice, clean airport.

Move to Carmel if you want a suburb. North side if you don’t.

I just moved from there.

It’s a very up-and-coming city. There are always new apartments sprouting up and more and more restaurants/bars opening up. It’s got the benefits of a big city but lives considerably smaller.

There’s something for everyone. The business climate is fantastic.

The people are a little vanilla, and there’s really nothing “unique “about the place. But you can bring some southern spice. Except for the Indy 500. That thing is a crazy beautiful mess.

$10-$15 more per hour would likely be more money then $10-15k.

Without looking it up I would assume Dallas and Austin are both larger then Indy

Checks out.
$10 / hr x 40 hrs x 50 weeks (not counting paid vacations since it's hourly) = $20k more.
$15 / hr increase = $30k

Yep. $20-30k more a year. If that's the case I'd take It, see if you like it for a year or 2, if not, move back while having a hire starting gig than before

Well it may not be the north east US, but its north east from Houston (where I'm currently at).

One major incentive for me at least is it snows during the winter, and the summers only get to the mid 80's. Yesterday in Houston it was 98° with a heat index of 106. Its too damn hot in Houston!

Indy is actually a pretty cool city. It’s clean and the downtown is nice. But it’s definitely not the northeast.

Don't think this is the case at all. Definitely gets 100 or close in peak July and August in most of the mid west. Given it can also snow in late April.

Seems like you should be able to go from burger assembly to deep fryer at a McDonalds location closer to where you're currently at.

Indiana is Midwest, definitely not Northeast.

Rivers baw. It's not like I made that up. Why do you think people settled them 150 years ago. Dallas has red river, Austin has the small Colorado River, and I'm sure as hell positive Phoenix has one.

It does indeed snow but be prepared for the blistering heat of a midwestern summer.

Indianapolis isn't in the Northeast.

It's called the Midwest. Hopefully you aren't being considered for a teaching position teaching geography.
