maybe I'm reading into too much, but would a work office or a random bar traffic be a public event?

quote:

Public Event Law and Legal Definition. A public event, as the name suggests, could refer to any event open for the general public. Exhibitions, expositions, fairs, festivals, entertainment, cause-related, fundraising, and leisure events are all examples of a public event.

I was going off of the official tweet, that didn’t say anything about “public”. It said all “gatherings”.

restricting constitutionally protected rights AND committing economic suicide at the same time is pretty impressive. Gotta admit

I seem to remember something about the freedom to assemble in the constitution.

There's these nagging little things called 'cases' in which the Supreme Court interprets the Constitution.

TLDR: It's perfectly constitutional to shut down gatherings for a neutral reason.

You can still have a decent orgy with 240 people.

Here is the text of the tweet from JBE.

quote:

Today, I signed a proclamation that immediately halts any gathering of more than 250 people until Monday, April 13, closes all K-12 public schools statewide effective Monday, March 16 and also moves upcoming state elections.
