Unfortunately the world as it exists today isn’t the slightest bit rational. The decision makers will continue parroting masks to protect others from you, despite little to no actual evidence of that being a thing, to maintain their power.
And the sheep will continue blindly following them while making pariahs out of anyone that does even the slightest bit of research and critical thinking, which inevitably leads to questioning the decision makers.

This is what frustrates me the most. People that realize it is window dressing but still do it to "feel good." American Airlines continues to announce on every flight that you need to wear a mask to "demonstrate to other traveler's that you care about their health". Guess what, I don't care about demonstrating shite. If there were an actual health benefit I would do it but at-risk people don't need to be flying. So I don't care.

I get all that but saying it’s the MOST important thing is just ignorant at best or negligent at worst. I’m some immune compromised person is out an about more than they absolutely need to be bc they have been told that wearing a mask is the MOST IMPORTANT THING is extremely dangerous.

And yes that is in reverse, which is clearly backed up by the science that these liberal douche nozzles claim to value so much. Social distancing and handwashing/hand sanitizer does infinitely more than porous cloth masks to stop the spread of respiratory viruses like COVID. That is backed up now by several scientific, peer reviewed and published studies. JBE is a lying a-hole.

You can stay away from people but it does no good if you are coughing and spitting on shite others touch. Masks stop the spread.

Yeah that’s probably #1 if you are coughing and spitting up then you probably should be at home and not out and about touching and coughing on stuff.

This is foolish. Does Saban wear a mask around his wife and kids? Of course not.
The poster above gave a great argument against masks. He pointed out that asymptomatic transmission is the reason for masks. Everyone with symptoms can just quarantine. So if there is no asymptomatic transmission, then there is no reason to wear masks.
That’s a good argument, but it’s wrong. A guy I work with had dinner with a group of parents whose kids play soccer together. One had COVID-19 but did not know it yet. All five of the other people at that table that night got COVID-19 within the next week. The person who infected them all had no apparent symptoms but would not be considered asymptomatic because she did get symptoms the next day.
