Chances are he was touched as a kid himself, fricking up the wiring in his brain, making him attracted to kids.
He may have first taken to binge eating to pull himself out of the sex "pool" because his desires were not normal. I.E: he knew it was bad and he shouldn't do it.
Then one day he is tired of being fat, starts the subway diet, gets noticed and ends up making millions. He gets fame and money. His sexual desires now can be had and he has the money to cover it up, or so he thinks. He gets away with it for a while, but now it has caught up to him.
He is a broken shell of a human, not fit for life among the rest of us in society. There is no rehab. There is no possibility that he will ever be "free" of his desires.
There is one honorable thing he can possibly do now: off himself. Save society from the burden of housing him and save the families of the kids he hurt from knowing that this frick isn't dead for what he did.
I hope he does the one good thing he can do the rest of his life and rid the world of himself.

This. We need to try and help these people before they commit the act. It isn't their fault and they aren't a criminal until they do something. We, as a society, do not open the door for these types to get help like we do alcoholics and people with gambling problems.

It wasn't the Subway, but damn. I wish our society was less quick to shame those who are attracted to children. They need serious help, but I imagine someone like Jared was terrified to seek help because he would lose everything. So instead, he did the worst thing possible and preyed victim on several innocent children.

You missed my whole point. Even though there was a good chance he was a victim, he is broken and unfit for society. He is ultimately responsible for his actions and I don't believe he should be alive. I actually advocate him killing himself to do society a favor.
The only chance you have of saving people like him is when they are still young and pliable. The problem is that they don't say anything or do anything until it is too late to help them.
