Many beers around the world we think of as native to that country were actually started by Germans. Tsingtao is one of them.

The Germans started that brewery after they established their colony there in China. I'd love to have had the chance to drink a Tsingtao in China before the Great Siege of 1914.
I doubt that the recipe today is the same as it was in 1914.
