I've stopped fighting about the mask thing

Anywhere I go now, I just say "I have asthma."
They can't fight you on it. Just do it. Take a stand by not taking a stand.
Don't make a big production. Don't make up an elaborate story. This wil help you to avoid a big tearjerking scene. If you want to go maskless, say so. Be prepared for the sheep to feel hurt and rejected. Even if you've only worn a mask for a short time and haven't been too serious, there's still a feeling of rejection when someone says they prefer the company of people without masks over stricly masked company. But if you're honest and direct, and avoid making a flowery emotional speech when you break the news, the mask wearer will respect your frankness and honestly they'll appreciate the kind straightforward manner in which you told them your decision, unless they're a real jerk or crybaby you'll remain friends.

Nobody likes to wear em.... have to do some things in life you don’t like sometimes .... geez, no wonder y’all are the last state to open up

1. That's not how HIPPA works
2. They can still refuse you service. So if you want to walk around a place with no mask and not be able to purchase anything then go for it I guess.

You would think by now people would grasp this. That HIPAA has absolutely nothing to do with a business in this situation and doesn’t work this way at all. But no they still try to use this excuse. Guess it just makes it easier to spot the really ignorant ones.
