I like the young councilman a lot. He can't be older than 30, but he doesn't seem to subscribe to the pimp, preacher, panderer mold of other, older, black politicians.
He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and a clear view of the problems his city faces, who is responsible and how to fix them.

Let me tell you something.
I see these unbelievably trashy white people. Go to a river ropeswing in the Florida panhandle or a dollar general anywhere in the south.
400 lbs, pierced and tatooed, illiterate, mouth hanging open, eating garbage all the time, completely selfish and sedentary all the time, on welfare, tinfoil in the trailer window, 9 meth-head kids. That kind of shite.
Criticize them all you want. Be as racist and mean and fricking awful as you can. I don't care. I have zero connection to them. I could never possibly associate with them in any way whatsoever. Solidarity isn't just absent, it's unfathomable.
That's the difference here. Do I hate blacks? I hate the black welfare criminal thug underclass because of what they do. I of course do not hate people simply for having dark skin or being of African descent. I do not hate my black friends, black neighbors, black colleagues, or the black people I encounter every day. I do not hate you, StrongSafety, or begrudge your African descent in any way whatsoever, in every aspect of my life you are thought of and treated of as completely equal. (A lot of liberals are inherently racist in that they treat blacks with kid gloves, but that's off topic) The fact that I have to clarify that is absurd.
You are not one of them.
