Yeah I heard that. He also was focusing on whether he should have been arrested or not, so I could see them trying to make the argument from that angle dispite an existing injury.

Whats going on in this picture?
Is it just me or does it look like these guys are siding with the police?
Posted on 4/29/15 at 8:06 am to whoisnickdoobs
they are. they are preventing any rowdy protesters from engaging the police.

Stopped watching when it settled down around 11:00 ET, any craziness over night? 5:00 AM did they all run back on to the streets?

Monday night was pretty sweet TV. Guess that's what makes it so good. Doesn't happen that often.

real talk,
These people were being interviewed 25 min or so after curfew saying they weren't going home until the police went home, they are in our neighborhood, they need to go home....Reporter asks " then why not go INTO your home instead of disobeying the law?"...They are in our home!
Pretty ignorant and this is why they got pushed away and hit with pepper bullets etc...these are some ignorant people, even if they do have some good protestors out there, they are just allowing the negative ones to mix in with what may be good then the negative ones shine and bring down the good ones...they all just need to go home....
Sad when they play the race card.....why play the race card? I don't see any white individuals running into stores taking things, throwing bricks, setting things on fire...where are they? smh...they only hurt their own image and play the sympathy card way to often

Oh I hope this is true:
"The Fourth Estate has contacted sources who allege that Freddie Gray received spinal and neck surgery a week before we was arrested, and was allegedly receiving a large structured settlement from Allstate Insurance. The surgery is allegedly related to a car accident in which Gray was involved.
Sources allege that Gray also attempted to refinance his structured settlement into one lump sum payment through Peachtree Funding.
If this is true, then it is possible that Gray’s spinal injury resulting from his encounter with the Baltimore Police was not the result of rough-handling or abuse, but rather a freak accident that occurred when Gray should have been at home resting, not selling drugs."

Anyone with Lexus/Nexus or some other court records DB that can verify this? I don't necessarily trust a site like 4th Estate.
ETA: Well, I don't know if he had surgery or not, but it looks like the source of the settlement money is easily explained.
In a previous Baltimore Media article the following was noted:
[…] As children, he and his two sisters were found to have damaging lead levels in their blood, which led to multiple educational, behavioral and medical problems, according to a lawsuit they filed in 2008 against the owner of a Sandtown-Winchester home they rented for four years.
With so much of its housing stock predating laws banning lead in paint, Baltimore continues to wrestle with the after-effects on thousands of children who have inhaled or ingested the toxic metal.
[…] The siblings filed the lawsuit against Stanley Rochkind and several corporations associated with him. (Originally, the suit also targeted the owner of another home where the family lived, but that defendant was ultimately dropped.)
Rochkind is well known for owning hundreds of rentals in the city over the years, many of which have drawn lead paint lawsuits. In 2001, he was fined $90,000 by the Maryland Department of the Environment as part of a consent agreement that required him to rid some 480 rental units in Baltimore of lead paint. (link)

I'm not sure that story will be accepted by the masses. I must say that if that story is true that I falsely accused the BPD of killing the guy.

They could put out a video of him committing suicide by banging his head against the wall and it still wouldnt be accepted.
The rioters and some protesters are well beyond accepting anything but revenge at this point.

Hell no. I mean look at all of the ones in recent past they chose to make an issue out of. NONE of them have been anything remotely close to what they claimed when the facts came out. So if this was one of those cases, it would be the exception. They have deem their own cause laughable.

What college was Freddie about to enroll in?

It would bring everyone to tears that this man was so oppressed that he had to take his own life

Many people in Baltimore are really stepping up. They don't want to be Freguson.

That's a great picture--mother fricking America bitches. Never let thugs take over your city.
