Have to be in a complete open area or it will crash. No object detection.

Couldn't that require a new piece of hardware and not just firmware?

i'm not saying it couldn't but it's possible a simple firmware update may do the trick since the drone already has a built in camera

Would be awesome to have one following each player on the football field.

They would be constantly crashing into each other, of course.

just read that thread.Just preordered. At $499 i don't think it's a bad purchase. The DJI Phantom cost a hell of a lot more than that.
Cool!

So now government doesn't have to bother with tracking your every move, you're doing it for them. And paying for it on top of that.

Dear Lily Community,

Over the past few weeks, we’ve delivered several engineering and manufacturing updates to your inbox. If you have been following along, you already know that we’ve redesigned the tracker, set up and tested our production line, and recorded video using the first units off the line.

Right now, our team is working relentlessly on Lily Camera’s flight control software. We’ve hit some challenges there, but rest assured, it’s nothing our team can’t handle. We just need more time. To accommodate flight software optimization, hardware improvements, and additional rounds of testing, we will be delaying pre-order shipments until Summer 2016. This was not a decision taken lightly. The key elements that led us to adjust our production timeline are outlined below:

Ya couldn't just start a new thread? Bumping seven month old threads feels gross. Like fricking a grandma.
