That's exactly the point, it doesn't matter. That's why she should just say so - nobody really cares other than the fact that it's weird to pretend to be someone you're not


She would be accepted and everyone could move on with their day. But the more she acts weird and like she's hiding something, the more others are going to call her out on the strange behavior.

It's basically the OT version of the Streisand Effect

I have seen it at several places across the US

Usually in small town local coffee shop frequented by the over 45 set.
